Count the difference between calendar dates
The date calculator includes all calendar days, including weekends and leap days. It measures the gap between the selected dates, excluding the starting date.
A negative result means the finish date is before the start. For a count that excludes weekends and entered holidays, use the business days calculator.
How to use this tool
- Choose the starting date.
- Choose the finishing date.
- Read calendar days, weeks and the absolute difference.
Example
From 1 March to 8 March is 7 calendar days, or 1 week. Counting both dates as separate included days would give 8, which is a different counting rule.
Common questions
Does the result include both dates?
No. It calculates the gap between them. Equal dates give zero days.
