Find the difference for the date you need
Time differences are not always whole hours. Some zones use an extra 30 or 45 minutes. Other differences change when one location switches its clocks and the other does not.
A positive result means the destination is ahead of the source at the selected moment. A negative result means it is behind. Read both local dates before arranging a call.
How to use this tool
- Select the two time zones.
- Enter a date and time in the source location.
- Read the destination time and the signed hour difference.
Example
Kathmandu is 15 minutes ahead of Kolkata. The difference is 0.25 hours, not a full hour.
Common questions
Can the difference change during the year?
Yes. Daylight saving and other offset changes can alter it. Check the date of your event, not just the current date.
