Make the time zone part of the input
A date and time without a zone can mean different moments on different devices. This converter requires Z or an explicit offset so the input has a clear meaning.
The output includes UTC ISO 8601, Unix seconds, Unix milliseconds and a local reading. The tool converts supported date and time values; it does not parse every ISO duration or calendar format.
How to use this tool
- Paste a date and time with Z or an explicit offset.
- Check the UTC result.
- Copy or download the format needed by your application.
Example
12:00 with an offset of plus 04:00 represents the same moment as 08:00 UTC on the same date.
Common questions
Why is a time zone required?
It removes the ambiguity between a local clock reading and a specific moment. The converter rejects input that leaves the zone out.
